Our Blog

The Archetype Blueprint is our proprietary process for creating an extraordinary experience for every individual, family, and business owner we serve.

At Archetype, we believe every family deserves a quality financial plan. And every plan starts with a complimentary Blueprint.

In order to provide excellent financial advice, it is critical that we obtain sufficient information to produce a comprehensive financial model of each clients’ unique situation. We call this process, including our presentation and proposal – “the blueprint”.  Once your Blueprint is completed, we are in a much better position to provide excellent financial advice in the context of the “big picture” of your financial life.

Workflows help our team stay organized and efficient. Since the “Blueprint” will be our most frequent workflow, I thought it might be helpful to outline the process for folks like you who may be visiting our website because you’re curious about what we do and how we do it.

The Blueprint workflow involves seven steps, each step of the process will include multiple tasks (currently, there are 54 basic tasks involved in the complimentary blueprint workflow. The specific number of tasks will be different for your Blueprint). It may be helpful to understand that the first four steps are completed without any obligation or cost to the client. During these first four steps, we will be gathering information, creating a gap analysis report, and preparing your blueprint presentation. Steps five through seven will only be completed after you’ve hired Archetype Wealth Partners. You will have the opportunity to consider our proposal at the end of the fourth step – the blueprint presentation.

First Steps – Before You Hire Archetype Wealth Partners

Step 1 > Discovery Meeting

We begin with a face-to-face (or FaceTime) meeting to get to know you and your vision, values, and purpose. During this meeting we’ll ask you to share your goals and concerns and we’ll review your current situation along with your personal financial statement and other key documents (investment statements, tax returns, estate planning documents, etc.).

Step 2 > Initial Observations

Next we create a list of initial observations based on the information you provided. Our team then works together to build a comprehensive financial model of your current situation or what we call your Archetype Blueprint. Throughout the planning process we work to prioritize your needs, wants, and wishes in a way that connects all of your resources to What Matters Most to you.

Step 3 > Gap Analysis

In this step we spend as much time as needed to analyze your family (or business) investments, assets, liabilities, inflows, and outflows in the context of your goals and objectives. Our goal is to identify the gaps in your current financial plan, including any issues, problems, or opportunities that need further research.

Step 4 > Blueprint Presentation

At this meeting we will present our initial observations and highlight the gaps and opportunities we’ve identified in building your Blueprint. We’ll walk you through the details of your financial Blueprint and we’ll spend as much time as needed to answer all of your questions. We’ll then outline a financial planning agreement including the cost of our services should you wish to hire us to build, implement, and monitor your financial plan for one year.

Next Steps – After you hire Archetype Wealth Partners

Step 5 > Strategy Recommendations

Once you have selected Archetype Wealth Partners to serve as your fiduciary financial planner, we will formalize a comprehensive plan with specific strategic design recommendations, action steps, and an implementation timeline. The implementation of our financial planning recommendations are always at the client’s discretion.

Step 6 > Plan Implementation

The next step is the implementation of the ideas, strategies, and solutions we’ve agreed make sense for your family or business.  This may include the active oversight and management of your investment portfolio as well as coordinating with your team of advisors (CPA, Attorney, insurance agents). Should you decide to use our investment management services, a separate advisory agreement will be provided for that portion of your portfolio.

Step 7 > Plan Monitoring

We understand that your situation may change over time. Our team will offer to meet with you regularly so that we can determine if (and how) any of your life changes will impact your financial goals and objectives. We will also offer to help you organize your key financial documents and important personal data on our secure financial planning website.  At your one year anniversary with Archetype, we will offer to review the progress made on your plan and discuss any adjustments needed.
